Natural Resources Teacher Workshop - This annual workshop for K-12 teachers includes topics on agriculture, water and forestry resources. The classes are taught by resource professionals (foresters, mineralogists, hydrologists and agronomists) using hands-on, grade appropriate lessons you can use to teach your students about natural resource management. The last day of the workshop you will go on a field trip and see natural resource management in action. (Credit available) Mining and Mineral Resources - This three-day workshop for K-12 teachers includes topics on mining and mineral resources. Spend Wednesday, August 8th and Thursday, August 9th in the classroom learning about the mining industry and minerals, getting new activities to use in your classroom and lots of hands-on materials! Friday, August 10th will be spent in a working mine seeing first-hand where the minerals used everyday come from and how they are extracted. Space is limited so register today!
